Catering Team Lead (30 hours per week, Permanent) / £23,500 p.a. plus performance bonus

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time experienced Catering Manager, with an interest in providing a great service to our education customers.
Working as part of a hardworking and dedicated team you will be responsible for the managing four school kitchens, designing menus alongside out education colleagues, ensuring compliance and training of a dedicated catering team. As a small team, this role not only provides you with the opportunity to lead the team, but you will also be required to work in the kitchens at times to cover staff absence and help develop our chefs skills. Working with others in the Estate’s you will also carry out the admin tasks required to keep the team working smoothly, including order process, budget management and Hr processes.
We are looking for a hardworking, motivated, and enthusiastic Catering Professional to join the team and create a dynamic and inspiring learning environment for the children.
We are seeking an innovative and proactive individual with effective communication skills to hit the ground running in their responsibilities and be able to effectively manage their workload and demands across the Trust.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, be organised and highly driven to achieve. Candidates should have a proven ability of dealing with multiple tasks to meet time deadlines and working efficiently under pressure. You will work successfully as part of a team, building positive relationships with staff and key stakeholders both within Delt, the Trust and with external providers. Having experience of supervising kitchen staff is a must, ideally suited to someone from a catering background looking to take the next steps in their career. As this is hands on catering roll, being able to cook is a must. Our kitchen provide meals for pupils in SEMH needs, and as such many of our meals are bespoke to ensure that pupils are well nourished in the school environment.

In return we can offer you a great work-life balance. Working hours are 30 hours per week split over 5 days Mon – Fri. General hours of work will be 8:30pm until 3pm daily. Working Term time only, with an additional 2 weeks split over the year to cover staff training and cleaning in the kitchens during the holidays.
