Interim Payroll Technical Specialist, 37 hours per week, Fixed Term Contract, up to £40,000 p.a. plus performance bonus

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Technical Specialist to join our team during the strategic implementation of our HR/Payroll (HCM) solution. This role will be integral to the successful deployment of MHR’s iTrent solution, with a focus on the payroll workstream.
Key Responsibilities:
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Develop UAT scripts, execute testing, and resolve errors in collaboration with the solution supplier.
- Process Design: Contribute to the design of future payroll and pension processes related to system configuration.
- Payroll Operations: Conduct end-to-end payroll processes, reporting, and reconciliations in the test environment.
- Parallel Run Reconciliations: Perform parallel run reconciliations between the current payroll system and iTrent, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Go-Live Support: Assist with the solution’s go-live phase, providing user support and troubleshooting as needed.
Key Competencies and Outputs:
- Extensive knowledge of the end-to-end payroll lifecycle and familiarity with HR and HCM systems.
- Practical experience in implementing payroll solutions.
- Ensure systems and processes are compliant, offering advice to internal and external customers.
- Analytical skills to support testing and reconciliation for successful UAT and payroll parallel runs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop new processes and guidance within Payroll and Pensions.
- Drive efficiencies in payroll processes and provide training to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Identify and address HR system payroll configuration issues or improvements, reflecting enhancements in HR system functionality.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of statutory pay-related legislation, pension scheme regulations, and employee terms & conditions.
- Proven commitment to continuing professional development, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and skills.
- Experience with MHR’s iTrent solution or similar HR/Payroll systems is desirable.
- High IT literacy, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Proficient in using IT systems and reporting tools to extract, analyse, and manage complex data.
