Supporting our local community is one of Delt’s core values, and on International Volunteers’ Day, we’re celebrating the difference our colleagues make through their volunteering efforts.

This year, we’re highlighting Ian Humber, who volunteers with the Devon and Cornwall Police Scrutiny Panel. In his role, Ian reviews body-worn video footage and works with officers to ensure national standards are met, providing constructive feedback to improve policing practices.

Ian is also a long-standing Shoreline Member of the RNLI, supporting the charity’s volunteer-led lifesaving work.

On volunteering, Ian advises:

“Make sure you believe in what you’re doing. Enjoy it and don’t look on it as a burden.”
